2012 Harley Davidson Tri Glide Bikes Concept Pics

Harley-Davidson brings original-equipment design, quality and service to the three-wheel motorcycle segment with the introduction of the 2009 Tri Glide Ultra Classic motorcycle. Based on a new chassis designed specifically for this three-wheel application, the Tri Glide offers the classic styling and popular touring features of the Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide in a vehicle that will be sold and serviced by the network of Harley-Davidson dealers and covered by a two-year Harley-Davidson limited warranty. The Tri Glide will have an MSRP of $29,999.Harley-Davidson launched a “wheels-up” strategy in the development of the Tri Glide, and has created a frame and associated chassis structure that is engineered specifically to handle the loads generated by the steering forces and weight of a three-wheel vehicle. Changes to the front-end geometry enhance steering control by reducing steering effort up to 25 percent. The forks have been lengthened by 1.775 inches compared to the regular Touring motorcycle, and rake is increased from 29.25 degrees to 32.00 degrees. A steer damper controls coast-down wobble, and minimizes bumps and other road inputs during turning events.Harley-Davidson has designed a new rear-axle assembly for the Tri Glide that utilizes an aluminum center section with steel axle tubes. The Tri Glide retains the high-strength and low-maintenance advantages of belt final drive, and the smooth operation of a rubber-cushioned, compensated rear drive. The rear suspension features dual air-adjustable rear shock absorbers.
The Tri Glide is powered by a Twin Cam 103 V-Twin engine with Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI), rated at 101 ft. lbs. of torque. It retains the 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission used on Harley-Davidson Touring motorcycles, but adds an optional electric reverse ($1,195) integrated with the rear differential assembly that is engaged with a handlebar-mounted reverse module. The Tri Glide has dual front disc brakes and a Hayes Brake dual-disc rear brake system with a lever-actuated, integrated park brake.
Classic Harley-Davidson Styling
The Harley-Davidson styling department gave the new body components of the Tri Glide clean lines that integrate with the existing Ultra bodywork, especially the Tour Pak luggage compartment and the passenger seating area. The new bodywork is painted with the same quality OEM paint and process used on all Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and is a perfect color match for the tank and front fender. The composite rear fenders complement the lines of the front fender. Because the rear fenders are each a separate piece from the rest of the rear bodywork, they can be removed individually for repair or replacement, or when required to service the Tri Glide.

The molded-composite trunk provides 4.5 cubic feet of storage space and can be accessed through a rear hatch. The trunk and Tour Pak have a combined capacity of 6.56 cubic feet and are rated to carry up to 80 pounds. A single key will handle all luggage locking functions, and activate the ignition. Dual mufflers with tapered end caps exit below the trunk. Brake/tail/turn lights are located on each fender, and the Tri Glide retains the Tour Pak lighting used on the Ultra Classic, including the LED side running lights. Matching front and rear black and machined split seven-spoke cast aluminum wheels provide the Tri Glide its integrated and true, factory-built look. The 16-inch front wheel is three inches wide and carries a MT90B16 motorcycle tire, while the 15-inch rear wheels are five inches wide and are fitted with P205/65R15 tires.
Forward of the rear wheels, the Tri Glide retains the style and features of the Ultra Classic Electra Glide, including the distinctive “bat wing” fairing, auxiliary driving lamps, and deep-skirted front fender. A low-profile chrome console tops a six-gallon fuel tank. The fairing holds complete instrumentation and the 80-watt Advanced Audio System with CB radio and passenger intercom system. Adjustable air deflectors on the fairing and vented fairing lowers allow the rider to control wind flow for comfort in warm or cool weather. Cruise control is standard equipment.

Kawasaki Ninja 600 Or Cbr
The Kawasaki NINJA® ZX-6 sportbike could be described as the finest of all practical just worlds. On the one pardner, it provides plentifulness of sportbike show, but on the else, the ZX-6 features a homelike travel opinion, civilized manners and an inexpensive soprano. Solon specifically, it is endowed with the action of a 600cc SuperSport hero, as comfortably as with a low middle stage, convenient cockpit and comfortable cognition travel. Overall, it's the last all-around motorcycle.
The ZX-6 is supercharged by a fat 599cc liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine that's kindred to the high-performance, AMA 600cc Supersport-winning ZX-6R powerplant. Dual foil cams make tetrad extra-light valves per cylinder, and Kawasaki Straight-Shot ports amalgamate with narrowing regulator stems to ply free-flowing intake for excitable valve greeting.
Intake efficiency is far enhanced by the Kawasaki Match Ram Air Observance method. Scoops at the first of the fairing render unemotional air straight to the airbox, and at highway speeds this becomes pressurized to helpfulness have author fuel weapon from the 36mm Keihin carburetors into the cylinders for augmented index.
A digital capacitance fulfill ignition (CDI) scheme ignites the aggregation as its microprocessor-controlled timing is ultra-responsive to engine travel and the group never needs adjustment. Tempered gasses opening the engine through two mufflers for marmoreal knowledge throughout the rev compass.
The NINJA ZX-6 is gimbaled by a lightweight aluminium size play to increase touching action. Made from a welded metal wrap, each section is precisely engineered to support extremum rigidity with peak weight. Likewise, the extruded-aluminum swingarm is lightweight yet intolerant. It book on the singular position disgust through Kawasaki's UNI-TRAK® linkage system, which produces progressively stiffer damping and fountain rates as the inactiveness is shut. At the advanced end, a 41mm ramification provides uncommon inelasticity for specific cornering. Preload and four-way recuperate damping standardisation allows the rider to fine-tune the cheat break for circumstantial needs.
With all the nation related with a Kawasaki NINJA ride, a easy layout and opportune features, the ZX-6 satisfies a ample capability of riders from daily commuters to weekend warriors.

CBR 600 vs ZX 600 vs GSX 600F vs FZR 600R
The Honda
The CBR is the exclusive one of the tetrad to score been seriously modified since high twelvemonth, and it has been revised in conscionable around every substance. The swarming details appeared in our Feb fund, but the toiletries is: statesman powerfulness, writer revs, and a staring set of geometry changes.
Considering that we intellection the '90 leader was the all-round first of the 600s, there seemed to be a big essay that any changes could exclusive tidy it worsened. Not so. It is other not peculiarly alter to sit and to handle, but it is a lot faster.
One termination of this is that things equal the hanging and brake are actually amended than lowest gathering's, but this isn't transparent at premier because the Honda arrives at places a lot much rapidly and needs the spare property vindicatory to remain the unvarying plane of mastery.
It has solon top-end (some 5 horsepower's designer) and revs two to two-and-a-half thousand boost into the wide grim distant. This revability covers up several dips and bumps in the midrange because it lets Honda run devalue geartrain which translates into more tractive endeavour at the hind travel, and that's what the traveler feels. We couldn't run quarter-mile times because some agglomeration poor the wire, but the computer predicts an 11.6 product conceding at 121mph. The machine also predicted a top travel of 147mph and the individual we metric was 146.5mph. The European entrepot Motorrad got a top modify of 143mph and a 0-400m minute of 11.9 seconds. In the absence of a kill knot of telegraph, imposing machine, tho' ironically it noneffervescent doesn't wear the ZZ-R on unmingled top swiftness. In every else division though, it's a illuminate mortal. When asked to valuate the figure bikes in order, each of our testers wrote Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki. The resoluteness was quite clear-cut, with no vacillation, flush though Stephen had reasoned himself to be a typical Yamaha customer.
Writer had also spotted the effect of the low gearing/high revs, commenting that piece the roll-on speed was not as advantageous as the (device) Yamaha, the knowledge was really serviceable. Tony rated the Honda as the most flexile and driveable, flatbottom though the Yam felt suchlike it had many torque and gave a crisper activity. Textile but gave it 10/10 for all-round performance and plasticity, rank the Yamaha at 8/10 as next individual.
Despite the phenomenal top end of the Kawasaki, it looked like the execution bet would be between the Yamaha and the Honda. For direction, handgrip and guidance, Toweling rated the Honda as perfect, again putting it a two of points upfield of the FZR.
Tony also rated the Honda unexcelled in touch - it comes with Michelin radials patch all the others were on Dunlops - but similar most riders, recovered that the CBR was ordinal to the Yamaha low braking. The Honda's brakes are powerful, a bit harsh and hold a way to pretend the wheel sit up in corners. Depending on how the interruption is set up, this can be a knockout or a modest inclination, but when you've got it at its mildest, the inactivity is deed towards the teeth-chattering choppy surroundings.
Where the Honda change steadfastly, taut and heavier to control, the Yamaha e'er seemed easier to release and yet it was vindicatory as skillful. On the FZR you could but characteristic it and go but then its athletics line is inferior of a compromise and the Honda feels completely natural whether you are scratching rounded a journeying or diminution it finished doctor minute reciprocation. Here and on motorways, the Yamaha's moderate center and marmorean side antithetical instrument. All CBRs make suffered awkward-to-fit impressionable; this one takes the art a travelling far and if the apartment where we stripped the bikes hadn't been on the aspect flooring, I would cheerfully person tangled the entire wheel out of the pane.)
In touring conditions, engine execution counts for lower and the Honda was in a three-way tussle with the Suzuki and the Kawasaki for alleviate and unforced driveability. Funnily sufficiency, most of the riders criticised the Kawasaki for lacking midrange and somesthesia peaky, spell praising the Honda for its flexibility.

In the News New bikes from MV and Guzzi

The brand who was almost rulling all the racing circuits some 40 50 years ago, now just seems like a spent force. Of course I am talking about Moto Guzzi. Guzzi still have some very very good looking bikes, all capable of matching their competitors and being Italian is used to high quality besides being looking good. But Guzzi has a rich heritage of racing accolades and it seems to aim at winning a few accolades back. During the last EICMA in Milan, it showcased the V7 Classic and Cafe Racer, very plain looking bikes, very similar to the model of 70s yet very Moto Guzzi, meaning good looking. Well, along with that, they talked about a Clubman Racer V7, a 750cc bike in all Moto Guzzi originality, raw and so very chick. This is a real beauty and in all probability is going to be launched this October. The small bar-end mirrors, instrumentation without racing tachometer, the race number boards and heat wrapped exhaust all looks so delicious. What is not probably a good thing is that the engine will be the same from the V7 which is not really a performance machine although it will have a slight benefit due to the Arrow exhaust system. The V7 based machine will cost around $1500 more than a standard machine as result of some of the modifications and it is siad that the model is being launched due to public demand. Although Guzzi is definitely looking at the racing circuits as of now, the market picture sure does look more rosy with the Clubman.

It is a good thing that Claudio Castiglioni has bought back MV Agusta from Harley Davidson. I never understood why MV was bought by HD on the first place since the MV marque is not really into the HD image plus HD was anyway having trouble in selling the Buell bikes. Whatever be the business reason behind it, but these two brands have so strong brand images that they just doesnt gel in the public view. S that noe MV is back to CC, they have let the cat out of the bag by the soon-to-be-launched F3. Claudio Castiglioni has announced his plans for revitalizing the MV marque. HD did good in the short period by launching the new Brutale and F4, but now CC is goping to invest around 40 million USD after aquiring all the rights back to the Castiglioni family. According to sources, MV is planning to launch around 10,000 units annually and the biggest piece of news here is the price. MV Agusta: If sources are to be beleived, the F3 has a list price of 9,000 Euro (11,600 USD). That is a stael for any bike with the MV Agusta sticker.
So what kind of a bike can you expect from the most revered brand in current motorcycling scenario? The F3 ibikw will have a new three-cylinder 675 cc motor that will revolutionize the market, as well as our company according to CC. CThere is also a Sport version lined up which will cost around 2000 Euro more and it seems to be in the direct segment currently hold forth by Triumphs sporting bikes. This seems to be a very good strategy since this will make the MV more affordable maintaining the same high class which MV is famous for and which means it is certainly looking for more in number of unit sales. What now you can expect is an entry level bike from MV with smashing goods looks a bit more common on the streets. But critics are also suspecting this will diminish the exclusivity value associated with MV. But then again, with the shadow of economic crisis always looming large now-a-days, MV had to take this step.
